چکیده

This paper provides new dilated linear matrix inequality (LMI) characterizations for continuous-time controller synthesis. The dilated LMIs enable us to parametrize controllers without involving the Lyapunov variables in the parametrizations. Taking advantage of this feature, we can readily design multiobjective controllers with non-common Lyapunov variables, whereas we are forced to employ a common one in the well-known Lyapunov shaping paradigm. In particular, it is shown that the proposed dilated-LMI-based approach to H2/D-stability synthesis encompasses the corresponding Lyapunov shaping paradigm as a special case. In this sense, the results of this paper can be viewed as partial counterparts of those obtained in the discrete-time setting. 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

New Dilated LMI Characterization for the Multiobjective Full-Order Dynamic Output Feedback Synthesis Problem

This paper introduces new dilated LMI conditions for continuous-time linear systems which not only characterize stability and H2 performance specifications, but also, H∞ performance specifications. These new conditions offer, in addition to new analysis tools, synthesis procedures that have the advantages of keeping the controller parameters independent of the Lyapunov matrix and offering suppl...

New LMI Characterizations for Discrete-Time Descriptor Systems and Application to Multiobjetive Control System Synthesis

Abstract: This paper presents new LMI characterizations for stability, H2 and H∞ norms of discrete-time descriptor systems. Based on these characterizations, an iterative design procedure for multiobjective and structurally constrained feedback control are proposed. The first key idea of the iterative design procedure is embedding the previously designed feedback gain K̂ in the descriptor repres...

Pseudoconvex Multiobjective Continuous-time Problems and Vector Variational ‎Inequalities

In this paper, the concept of pseudoconvexity and quasiconvexity for continuous~-time functions are studied and an equivalence condition for pseudoconvexity is obtained. Moreover, under pseudoconvexity assumptions, some relationships between Minty and Stampacchia vector variational inequalities and continuous-time programming problems are presented. Finally, some characterizations of the soluti...

Dilated LMI characterization for the robust finite time control of discrete-time uncertain linear systems

This paper provides new dilated linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) characterizations for the finite time boundedness (FTB) and the finite time stability (FTS) analysis of discrete-time uncertain linear systems. The dilated LMIs are later used to design a robust controller for the finite time control of discrete-time uncertain linear systems. The relevant feature of the proposed approach is the d...

Extended H2 - H∞ controller synthesis for linear time invariant descriptor systems. (Commande H2 - H∞ non standard des systèmes implicites)

Descriptor systems constitute an important class of systems of both theoretical and practical interests and have been attracting the attention of many researchers over recent decades. This dissertation is concerned with non-standard H2 and H∞ control for linear time-invariant descriptor systems. Within the descriptor framework, the contributions of this dissertation are threefold: i) review of ...
